We now have very lazy police officers in Nigeria who will not want to do their job even after collecting mobilization fees from complainants. What their interest is all the time is the bail fees from a detained suspect.
Yesterday being the 21st day of July 2023, we got a call from the family of Mr Irumhe Paul who has been in detention since last week Friday over an alleged theft of PMS as he’s a manager of Win-Oil filling station, Aviele, Estako West LGA
We investigated the story to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his arrest. The said owner of the filling station arrested Mr Paul because they found out that the reserved tank made for PMS was almost empty.
Instead of the police to carry their investigation properly they detained the suspect unlawfully for a week and rendered him incommunicado on the order of the said owner of the filling station. The family of the Mr. Paul carried out their own personal investigation and discovered that the reserved tank at the filling station has a leak underground and it has affected a lot of boreholes around the area and even the water they normally use for their business and household have polluted by the underground leakage of the tank.
After much deliberation, the Section leader of the police investigation team frown at our appearance and was vibrating. We just quickly left him and went to see the Area commander who was on seat.
After our meeting with the area commander, he immediately gave order to the Sectional leader of the investigation team to go and investigate all the borehole user at the said location. The investigation team and our active comrades went to the said location to interview the homeowners of the borehole.
Evidence was brought but would still need the expertise of an expert to confirm what is mixed with the water. On the report of our findings, the Area commander gave an order that the suspect should immediately be released on bail. The Area commander also, advice the owner of the filling station to seek expert to investigate the underground tank to know if there’s an actual leakage.
The suspect was later released on bail and once again, the police confirmed that the EVIAN of EDOCSO is ACTIVE.

Neither Hon Ephraim Aluebhosele nor his legal representative was in court in court to respond to the case against him
The case was later adjourned to Tuesday 21st November 2023 for hearing, as the court was able to prove that the defendant was duelling served

UPDATE ON THE COURT CASE BETWEEN NIGERIA POLICE FORCE AND EDO CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS
The court case between NPF and EDOCSO came up today Tuesday 11th july 2023. At the Evbuoriaria magistrate court 5. Sapele road Benin city.
comrades were present in their numbers and were ably represented by Barr Dele Igbinedion chambers
The motion filed by our lawyer Barr Dele Igbinidion, for the release of the tricycle and other valuables was granted, and the Keke was released to the owners after staying in the custody of the police and court for almost one (1) year. A motion of no case submittion was filled by our lawyers praying the court to strike out the case because the police refuse to defend the case
The case was thereafter adjourned to Thursday July 27th 2023 for further hearing and close for defense.

On 26th day of July 2022. one Brighton Odion, a tricycle rider who was riding his tricycle along limit road, of Sapele road in benin city. was apprehended by men of the Nigeria police force for riding in a restricted area according to the police and accused of violating the Governor’s order and was subsequently charged to court when he refused to give them bribe. And one Vision Nelson was also charged
along side with an offence of unregistered photographer and unlicensed journalist Because he was using his Android phone to record the event of arrest
